Mar Pages – a famous personality in the world of solo female traveling community. She has been able to build a social community worth more than 7-figure during the time of the pandemic, which is quite a lot for a community online (among 1% club).

This was all not only from the social platform, but rather from her overall organization (which includes a website, newsletter, and tour groups), which has managed to do it so well that women from different countries were attracted and inspired by her fascinating motto of travel.

This is where it all started, in 2015, Mar Pages with Meg Jerrard, the co-founders of Solo Female Travelers, and her colleagues managed to pull this off from a bin. However, the boom of their organization was during the pandemic which allowed their voice to be heard for many women around the globe.

Mar Pages had to leave their job at Google to start this community, which is quite a good risk considering women’s empowerment, self-belief, and courage to make something real.

This community started as a small Facebook group, with quite a small amount of people and inadequate funding. As they were a part of the Facebook community accelerator, they were able to get $80,000 in funding to start their move for scaling the community to a bigger audience.

This funding helped them to start from nothing – to hire people full-time which lasted for a year and even start their tours.

In 2021, Mar Pages started one of her first tours which was for 2 Iceland tours and 1 for Tanzania. They are ongoing with 12 destination trips, and 25-30 trips a year. Most guests come on their own to feel their independence.

With that, every trip generated a revenue of around $3000-$8000 on average, with each trip containing 8-14 people per tour. This itself accounts for more than 7-figures a year.

That too from just her tour groups. She also has a newsletter where she converts her users from Facebook groups and her website, and sends 2 weekly newsletters (previously one) to her raving fans.
